Our client came to us with a bespoke extension design containing lots of glazing with unusual shaped upper windows. Looking for a modern, clean design both internally and externally, our expertise and experience with both aluminium windows and aluminium pressings made us the perfect fit for the project. The windows and doors we supplied were from two different brands, ensuring we utilised only the most suitable product for each application, which were then given a powder coated aluminium finish in order to tie them together perfectly.
Energy efficiency was of very high importance in this project as the new extension will become the main living area within the house. In order to meet their strict energy efficiency needs, all windows and doors were fitted with 44mm triple glazing and all aluminium frames thermally broken to ensure a low overall U value for both the windows and doors, therefore resulting in a warmer and more comfortable space year round.
The colour chosen for this project was anthracite grey (RAL 7016) which was powder coated to all window and door frames, offering a low maintenance extremely durable finish. To compliment the glazing we had aluminium pressings made to cover the external façade where the windows meet, creating a seamless modern look to the joins and corners of the large glazed area, a must for any project of this kind.
We also supplied and installed a range of new windows and doors for areas of the original house in the same colour, modernising both the look and energy efficiency of the original house and complimenting the extension perfectly.
