Looking to convert an existing stable block into a contemporary home, our clients asked us to design a glazing scheme to bring in lots of light, modernise the building and most of all compliment the space on offer.
With two large arched openings on either side of the building we knew that this should be the central focus of the building and would create the opportunity to do something very special. Throughout the project we worked with a wide range of products to delivery a stunning end result.
For the original arch openings, we decided on two large Crittall steel screens with central French door openings. The Crittall screen compliment the industrial feel of the inner hall with bare brick walls and black cast iron staircase, adding the wow factor both internally and externally.
The stable block has a c shape configuration with internal halls on either side of the building. To give maximum light and impact to the internal hallway we installed floor to ceiling glass bonded windows which require virtually no frame and therefore maximise on the views and on light flow.
To the rear of the building we installed large sliding doors at either end creating the perfect indoor/outdoor flow to the main living areas.
We also supplied a side door from our Industrial range as well as a range of alu-clad windows throughout the rest of the building. Overall, we have installed products from five different collections all in the same RAL colour to achieve a consistent look.
The result is a bright contemporary home with enhanced energy efficiency and fantastic flow of light and connectivity between the internal and external spaces.
