This project entailed a comprehensive 'back to brick' renovation of the entire residence. Our client, who served as the project manager, collaborated closely with our sales and procurement team to conceive and execute this remarkable undertaking. The client's primary objective was to create a contemporary replacement for the existing Crittall Steel windows, imbued with modern thermal performance.
The outcome is a stunning array of thermally broken aluminium 'steel look' windows and doors. The selected profile closely mirrors the shape of the existing windows and doors. However, instead of solid steel framing and single glazing, our windows feature a thermal break and a 28mm argon-filled double-glazed unit, achieving an impressive U-Value of 1.4. This U-Value is a remarkable achievement for super slim steel-look windows.
Preserving the original finish of the existing steel windows was of utmost importance to the client. Our onsite surveyors meticulously worked with color-match charts to identify the best possible cream finish available. The original steel windows were originally installed in robust oak timber subframes, which the client requested to be removed to increase the size of the glass panels. Consequently, our skilled installers had to dismantle and reconstruct a portion of the brickwork beneath the windows where the old timber subframe sill had been placed. The expertise and attention to detail exhibited by our installers made it nearly impossible to discern that such extensive alterations had taken place.
In conclusion, we take great pride in this project, both in terms of the installation quality and the overall finish. We are delighted that our client now enjoys the benefits of a beautiful home, a testament to the meticulous design work invested in every facet of this endeavor.
