For this project, our client purchased a house in the friendly seaside town of Cardigan Bay, Criccieth which was in need of a full refurbishment. With the property's location, it was vital that the selected glazing had the performance to withstand the harsh winters along the coast of Wales. Collaborating closely with our sales team, based on the project requirement, we recommended the Knight Collection uPVC Timber Alternative Windows and Doors. These windows sit with the authentic look of wood and complement the shiplap cladding around the property's exterior. In addition, the 'A' rated energy efficiency and the low maintenance of the windows and doors are ideal for any holiday home by the sea.
Our Knight Collection Timber alternative windows and doors have been painstakingly designed to perfectly match what we have considered a typical Victorian timber window’. The level of detailing is so accurate that they are permissible in conservation areas as a direct replacement for existing timber windows. In this case, the key factors that made our timber alternative window the most appropriate option were the unique colour or RAL 9010 white wood grain foil (most alternates are a ‘brilliant white’ that is not equivalent to old lead-based paint), the 82mm depth of profile, and the ‘mortice and tenon look’ welded sashes. These small details combine to create what we believe to be the perfect timber alternative window.
