Our client wanted to build a large, traditional style full width extension to their open formate lounge and dining room to complement their home and capture their beautiful garden. The client was keen to maintain a seamless look internally, where they already had timber windows, but they were keen to add a contemporary twist to the exterior, in a nod to their modern addition. The choice of alu-clad windows and doors worked perfectly, maintaining the timber look inside, along with the more contemporary aluminium outside. We were able to achieve a dual style and colour to the window and door frame in order to blend the interior seamlessly with a soft traditional wood, and then create a striking and contemporary aesthetic by using aluminium externally.
The home owner wanted to showcase their beautifully landscaped garden views through large glazing from the optimum viewing angles. In order to capture the garden effectively, it was essential to use large expanses of glass, so it was of paramount importance that all units installed were extremely energy efficient, which was easily achieved with triple glazing and Rational alu-clad timber frames. One of the main benefits of an alu-clad timber frame is the low-maintenance exterior, which was of particular benefit given the scale of the installation. Meaning the homeowner can enjoy their windows and doors for many years to come hassle-free.
