Sash Windows, Wirral

After purchasing this iconic Regency property built in the 19th century, the new owners have been carrying out a scheme of maintenance and sympathetic updates to the property in order to make it the ideal home for their family.  One of the biggest issues they faced when they purchased the property was the poor performing original timber single glazed sash windows. Although a very attractive original feature of the property, the sash windows were no longer fit for purpose, creating huge cold spots within each room, leaking valuable heat and doing a poor job of keeping the wind and rain out.

There was no doubt that the owners wanted to replace them with period appropriate sash windows, ideally keeping as close to the original design as possible in order to maintain the existing aesthetic of the property. This was easily achieved here at John Knight Glass with our extensive range of sash windows available.  After considering the options, our client decided to go with the beautiful sash range from Roseview, an incredibly authentic looking sash window made from UPVC and boasting many of the original sash window features such as run through sash horns and the specific sash dimensions of the bottom rail and central bar, making it extremely hard to tell the difference between the UPVC and timber.

Aside from the incredibly authentic look these UPVC sash windows offered, our client was particularly impressed with the other benefits that these windows boast, including their long term low maintenance requirements, the vastly improved energy efficiency thanks to the various seals and double glazing, as well as the protection they offered against external noise and weather.  The result that we managed to achieve, looks aside, was a huge improvement in the heat retention of their home and elimination of drafts and water ingress, as well as a much quieter peaceful place for the family to enjoy every day.

Our sash window range offers a fantastic combination of authentic looks coupled with modern technology which means that old character properties no longer have to choose between under performing original windows, or unsympathetic modern UPVC casement windows, our sash windows offer the best of both worlds so that you can make the best long term investment in your property.
