Knight Collection - Sliding Doors Barn Conversion Kelsall

We worked with the architect and builder to design and install a complete glazing scheme for this prestigious barn redevelopment. Planning to convert a tired and weathered barn into the ultimate family home was the end goal and WOW the result did that and more.

Most of the glazing was at the rear of the home as the rear features a large entertaining area, swimming pool, and stunning countryside views, so focusing on this area was a key element of the overall vision. Here we installed 3 sets of bifold doors, a 10-meter sliding door with a huge matching window above, and a large bespoke roof light.

The sliding door is one of the key features of the home, with a large window above, the dual-height glazing creates a huge wow factor to the home which is visible from the moment you enter the front door. At the centre of the home is an oversized open-plan living space housing living, dining, and kitchen in one large spacious area. The 4-panel door can be opened up to either size giving a 5-meter clear opening which combined with the flush threshold makes the outdoor space feel like an extension of the home in the summer months.

On the ground floor to both sides of the main living area, the property features two further living spaces which both have access to the rear terrace through the triple panel bi-fold doors. These living areas both have access to the garden when the doors are open, a fun space for the kids when all doors are open in the summer months.

Another unique feature of this property is the up and over eves roof light, which features a standard sash window and a pitched flat roof light, creating a fantastic view from the upstairs bathroom.
