Timber Alternative Windows Cheshire

After purchasing this stunning family home, the homeowners set about a scheme of upgrades and modernisations to bring the house up to a modern standard, making it suitable for modern living while still maintaining the property's original charm and character.

Many of the windows were original steel single-glazed windows, which would have been extremely expensive to repair. Therefore, the homeowners decided to replace all of the windows and doors throughout the property, which was not only a more cost-effective solution but also enhanced energy efficiency and reduced the level of external noise entering the property, making it a much more comfortable home to live in.

Looking for a window that is both modern in function and sympathetic to the home's age and style, the homeowners decided upon our Evolution timber alternative windows and doors finished in olive grey. We also supplied and installed a sizeable Crittal steel screen as part of a new extension to the home, creating the ultimate man cave.

Internally the windows were finished in white woodgrain with wrought iron monkey tail handles and peg stays. The windows feature traditional butt joins, internal and external glazing bars and slim frames are all specifically designed to closely replicate the look of original timber windows whilst using UPVC. Externally the French doors are finished with a black wrought iron handle and matching black hinges.

A traditional-style roof lantern has been installed in the garden room extension, which has been finished externally in anthracite grey to give a contemporary contrast to the rest of the property. Featuring solar control glazing and a white internal finish, the roof lantern is the perfect way to bring in more light to this flat roof extension without the property getting too hot.

We supplied and installed a steel Crittall screen to add a new living area to the home. The screen gives a nod to the original steel windows that were once installed throughout the home and adds an edgy feel to the new extension. The screen contrasts well with the original home, creating a clear divide between the new and old buildings while still being an age-appropriate material for the building.

Externally, other features of the home, such as the garage door, barge boards, and entrance door, have all been colour-matched to the new windows, which gives a consistent look and feel to the overall property and helps ensure the windows blend in seamlessly.
