Treetops Cheshire, Internorm Installation

Prestigious development Treetops on the outskirts of Cheshire features a sizeable 4-bedroom property with expansive open-plan living spaces completed by GM Home Builders. This property has been developed with a high specification throughout, and the glazing is no exception. Due to their high specification, Internorm windows and doors were chosen for most glazing throughout this build. 

These windows worked perfectly with the house's design thanks to the aluminium-clad timber structure. The design of the windows included internal white timber for a soft, homely finish and grey RAL 7016 aluminium on the exterior, achieving a complex architectural statement externally with triple glazing for ultimate energy efficiency.

The home's main living area is an ample open-plan space featuring a kitchen, dining, and living area. This room opens to the large outdoor patio through a large set of Internorm sliding doors. For the sliding doors, we worked with the builders to design and supply a flush threshold, where the door threshold is buried between the internal and external floor areas. The flush floor threshold makes the internal and external spaces feel like one, particularly in the summer, making the outdoor space much more useable. Another unique feature is how the builders have built a void above each of the sliding door panels to allow the installation of electronic roller blinds; this ensures that the blinds are only visible when in use and, when open, are entirely hidden from view.

The main bedroom above the open-plan living area looks out onto the large garden. Here, we installed a large set of French doors that can be opened inwards. For safety, we supplied and installed a glass balustrade in front of the French doors. The large doors with sidelights allow a much greater light flow over a window and offer a fantastic garden view.
