Crittall Screen Wirral

Sometimes we get to work on some of the most beautiful family homes, this was one of them. From the moment you entered the front door the home was packed full of charm and character and instantly gave you the feeling of a warm hug.

Working with a local interior designer and architect the homeowner set about a scheme of changes to the home including a new open plan extension to the rear of the home replacing an existing conservatory.

We worked with the homeowner to replace all the existing timber windows and install a range of Crittall products in the new extension as well as a new flat roof light. To the side of the home there are several stained window panels that the client was keen to keep. We worked with local contractor KG Bell to repair and encapsulate the stained panels and then we installed them into brand new timber windows.

In the new extension we installed a black Crittall set of French doors as well as several matching full height Crittall windows. Internally we also added a single Crittall door separating the original living room to the new open plan extension. The internal Crittal door connected the original lounge with the new space thanks to the 6 glass panels and also helps to bring more light into the room.

Throughout the home the interior has been designed to compliment the traditional roots of the property with lots of timber panelling, timber in-frame kitchen, brass fittings and much more. The slim dark glazing bars of the Crittall windows and doors compliment both the interior and exterior of the property perfectly adding to the overall feel of the space.

The homeowners had wanted to ensure that all updated to the home where sympathetic to the original building design. This included the rear extension, they wanted to create a space that was unique to the property and designed a structure that was full of detail just like the original home. The overall design and choice of materials matches the original building perfectly. The steel doors, clay roof tiles and red brick work together to make the new alternation look as if it could have been there as long as the rest of the home.
