Agate Grey Composite Door Installation

Rationel Windows Cheshire

After purchasing this prestigious family home in a sought-after area within Cheshire, the homeowners set about a renovation scheme. The original timber windows and doors suffered from rot due to trapped moisture. The owners approached John Knight Glass with a view to replacing the majority of the windows and doors throughout the home with something that would be sympathetic to the original windows, but a product that would require lower maintenance than the original timber windows.

Our Alu-clad range from Rationel was the perfect choice. With a timber frame and aluminium capping, the new windows give the same warm timber finish internally while having a harder outer shell to reduce the required ongoing maintenance and ensure a hard-wearing product that will last for many years to come. Scandinavian in design, the Rationel window range is highly engineered and has some of the most thermally efficient windows on the market.

Externally all of the windows and doors where finish in anthracite grey which contrast well against the brick work and add to the contemporary aesthetic of the home. Internally the windows and doors are finished in a mixture of painted white and anthracite grey which ties in well with the interior design scheme.

On the top floor, there is a balcony featuring a set of bifold doors. Here, we have supplied and installed a set of aluminium bifolds in anthracite grey, which can be completely opened to give a fantastic view from the second floor.

Externally there are a large number of bay windows which required corner posts. We have installed several aluminium clad corner posts throughout the property which blend in seamlessly with the overall glazing scheme, creating a fantastic visual affect externally where many of the buildings corners appear to be floating.

The windows feature a flush design where the sashes sit flush with the front of the frame which give a more contemporary finish to the storm-proof design.

The bedrooms have not been overlooked when the original house was built, with large bay windows that span from wall to wall, creating beautifully light filled spaces. We have installed large bay windows with aluminium-clad corner posts and French doors that open inwards.
